Reflecting on our golden year

Dear customers, colleagues and friends,

As the weather outside turns colder and we all reflect on an extraordinary 2020, here at CellPath we’d like to share with you some of the achievements we have made as we quietly celebrated the 50th anniversary of supplying the cellular pathology industry.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a 2020 reflection without mentioning the coronavirus pandemic that has swept the world, devastating lives and livelihoods and making us all appreciate our health and home more than ever before. With biomedical scientists and the incredible NHS hospitals of the UK being a large proportion of our customer base, CellPath were keen to ensure that first and foremost we could continue with an uninterrupted supply of essential goods to laboratories whilst also protecting our precious staff. We quickly transitioned our office staff to remote working which gave us more space for our onsite workers to socially distance. We distributed PPE and followed strict hygiene practices and have been able to continue with both manufacture and distribution throughout the pandemic.

Having ensured our core operation could continue, we began to see where we could CelliTizer Hand Sanitiserhelp with other local efforts. Upon realising there was a local shortage of hand sanitising products and face visors we redeployed our chemical manufacturing and 3D printing facilities to produce essential supplies which were donated to local facilities like care homes, schools and funeral parlours. We have built upon this offering in recent months by releasing our hand sanitising products- CelliTizer– and face shield- CelliVizor- to the market. We have also developed a nose clip which allows glasses-wearers to use a face mask without their glasses steaming up. We continue to support our existing and have even been able to expand our team with additional staff joining us in the Customer Care, Research and Development and Regulatory departments throughout the year.

Another new addition, which you may have noticed if you are local to our Newtown headquarters, is the erecting of our fourth new warehouse. Despite some early delays, we are delighted that construction has been able to continue throughout the pandemic due to the hard-working team of local specialists employed to deliver the project. The fourth warehouse will allow us additional capacity for our ever-popular tissue archiving service, CellNass, to expand. Once complete, the building will also be home to a new canteen area and additional office or meeting room space. In our new warehouse, we will use the tried and tested very narrow aisle (VNA) racking system we currently use in our other warehouses to ensure the CellNass experience remains the most efficient storage and recall system available.

At CellPath we are always excited by the awards season and we love to fully MediLink Export Achievement Award 2020participate and show our support for our fellow British manufacturers. Unfortunately, this year many of the events were called off and have been postponed to 2021. This hasn’t stopped us managing to add another glittering trophy to our extensive range though as we were awarded the Export Achievement Award by MediLink. Against stiff competition, we were proud that our efforts in international markets have been recognised once again and wish to thank our hardworking team for their efforts in ensuring our continued success. CellPath has always been honoured to be a global distributor and as the UK leaves the EU we cherish the relationships with our customers both at home and away. We look forward to working with all of our distributors overseas in the years to come.

Finally, you do still have a few days left to order this year and you can find all the details of our Christmas opening hours and delivery dates on our website and across our social media platforms.

We would like to wish our friends, colleagues and customers a very merry Christmas and our warmest wishes for a happy and healthy 2021.

Best wishes,
All at CellPath
