CellPath is ‘cell’ebrating success after being crowned winners of the Technology & Innovation award once again at the Powys Business Awards!
Held at The Hafren in Newtown, Powys and hosted by BBC Wales Today presenter and former Aberystwyth University student, Claire Summers, the prestigious black-tie ceremony promoted and celebrated the hard-working professionals and businesses from across the breadth of Powys.
Chosen by the judges, the award aimed at companies that can demonstrate how they are using technology and innovation to keep them at the cutting edge.
In 2011, CellPath invested in a Research & Development department which enabled them to develop the next generation of products for cancer diagnosis. Recruitment of a team of engineers, chemists and biomedical scientists has enabled the company to increase productivity greatly by embedding an accelerated design process which has more than halved the time taken to market a new product. Since 2012, the company has added 20 instruments to its Histology range, with sales set to contribute over 5% of total sales revenue this year.

The Powys Business Awards judges also commented: “CellPath has a dedicated team within the business to champion research and development and innovation. Judges were impressed with the systems in place for R&D decision making and for the measurement of the success of innovative products once they are launched. Time to market for these new products has been significantly accelerated for the business and the drive towards innovation is evidently a top priority once they are launched”.
